Rifle/Carbine Instructor
This course will be modified
accordingly to a student’s level of Rifle/Carbine knowledge and
understanding.
Training Goals and Objectives
This is a practical skill, instructor
development course designed for the armed professional currently engaged in
street patrol or tactical operations within the law enforcement or military
police community. During each block of instruction the student will receive
a practical base of knowledge in the dynamics of the Police Rifle/Carbine,
its nomenclature, and techniques for successful portation, carry and use
during a potential high-risk situation. Each attendee will receive dynamic
practical training in the efficient and effective use of the rifle/carbine
in environmental conditions similar to those experienced during actual
performance of law enforcement duties, to include movement, cover, reduced
light, incapacitation and shooting positions. This instructor certification
program is presented in a contemporary and legally defensible format.
Response skills will be developed through simulated force application
situations and dynamic exercises
Training Audience, Format and Content
This course is most successful when
taught and received with audiences of 30 officers or fewer, but has been
given in larger groups with successful reviews. The smaller groups enable
officers to have more direct dialog, and contact with the students, permits
for more one-one development of shooting skills with the instructors.
The course is designed in 5-day
sessions with each day involving the exploration of a different topical
matter, reinforcement of previous learned material and extensive live-fire
range time. The course is generally designed to run from 0800 to 1700 hours
daily, with day 4 being utilized for evening low-light exercises.
