Tony began his law enforcement career in 1970 with the Illinois Department of Corrections as a parole agent for the first two years, and the Fugitive-Apprehension Unit as an investigator and extradition officer, in which he successfully completed 1,248 extraditions without incident. In 1986, Tony joined the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, working as a deputy at the Hall of Justice jail facility, and the Lennox Patrol Station. In 1989, Tony joined the Prince George’s County (MD) Police Department, beginning as a patrol officer, and was chosen among the first Community Oriented Policing officers in Prince George’s County. Tony worked in the Training and Education Division, and taught defensive tactics and report writing. Tony is currently assigned to the Intelligence Unit working street gangs and gambling investigations. Tony is a national trainer and speaker on Street Gangs, Defensive Tactics, Verbal Management, and Community Policing. Tony is the chairman of the Mid Atlantic Regional Gang Investigator’s Network (MARGIN), and Vice President of NAGIA (National Alliance of Gang Investigator’s Association). Tony also holds the rank of third degree black belt in judo, and began his judo calling in 1953. |
