Doppler RADAR Instructor Certification

This course will be modified to the level of expertise in the audience and can be adapted in the classroom for multiple levels of experience and understanding.

Training Goals and Objectives

The goal of this (32) hour instructor certification course is designed to reinforce a certified Doppler RADAR operator's knowledge, skills and abilities when using this type of speed enforcement device. This class will provide the Doppler RADAR operator with the materials, practical training and knowledge base necessary to instruct and certify other law enforcement personnel in the use of Doppler RADAR speed measurement enforcement.

Training Audience, Format and Content

This course is intended for various levels of law enforcement officers who already have certification and experience utilizing Doppler RADAR speed enforcement devices. This course is designed to consist of both classroom lectures and field practical work with Doppler RADAR devices. This course will require a moderate level of class participation from the students as well as a 5 minute presentation by each student on a given topic assigned by the instructor. This class normally operates on an 8-hour, 4-day time slot from 0830 hours to 1630 hours, but can be both modified and extended if needed. This class works best when the student population is under 35 participants, but can extend to a maximum of 50 students, for a five day program
